7L & Esoteric - 1212 (2010)

Sometimes it takes a little spark to go from darkness to light and proportionately from Boston duo 7L and Esoteric patting themselves must have had the ingenuity to use the sample from the TV series "Transformers" in 1996. Whether one believes or not, this risk-taking paid off to earn a reputation in the underground consistency. 14 years later, the duo is always there with a rather eclectic CV ranging gap electro, trip and affiliation with the Japanese Army Of The Pharaohs . With such a journey, 7L and Esoteric are classified in the class free electron so that the announcement of a new album by the duo 1212 certainly makes your mouth water but does not speculate on the audio content delivered.

New musical direction but certainly the wisdom of years to traverse the stages of the world seems to have calmed the appeal of the extraordinary as if 1212 offers a new facet of the duo is a trip through time as 7L and Esoteric come full tribute to the art boom bap. Idea more than respectable when a very subtle consciousness begins to stir neurons cms across on this subject. No subliminal message in this since 1212 offers a 12 tracklist and bonus songs.

So ended the trip at the con on the electro vibe of dubious taste and return to business with a line over the rough prod and a tightening of benefits microphone. After finding a relatively lens Retrospect their careers, we attack directly on a good boom bap Run This straight out of mid 80's accompanied by the talented Celph Titled (I put a diaper before chronic Nineteen Ninety Now ) trial on renewed Aneurysm despite resulting in more mundane, in a slightly vintage vibe ode to The Handle Basket with illuminated Sadat X 7L demonstrates that despite a 4-year musical hibernation keeps some imagination (level sample can not do better to address the theme of the song). We end this foray in years 80 with Shots Not sample and very unstable. With this kind of vibe about it or not, it is certain that the exercise allows Eso better to release a scathing critique of the excesses of the movement (Young Money taking much for their rank which will not displease).

The album is full of a sling load of guest of choice and can hear Inspectah Deck kicker on the tribute to GURU 12th Chamber produced by 7L reinforces the idea member of the Clan is absolutely buy new ears as possible before the release of a new solo ... Evidence and ALC (very good pay) join the party on Drawbar 1-2 ALCienne so that the sample is fairly surprised to learn that credit goes to DC The MIDI Alien . In any case the result is a frank success. Inevitable, landing softly and lightness of Vinnie Paz, Reef The Lost Cauze and Ill Bill on Bare Knuckle Boxing , so Grimy 7L! No need to hold forth for hours with anti AOTP go your way for others to enjoy the spittin angry nag of the troupe.

If passage, the vocal inflections of Eso make you think Jay-Z , I Hate Flying comfortably, it is certain that the more modern vibe of this track glue perfectly with the narration of the mc. It remains in this period with surprising New Rapper (idea what type to go into pop crams cuts while the sample was largely the case) and you end up with The Most Rotten where Statik Selectah excels in what he knows best: the scratches. ZOO is the bonus track for purchases in digital format and it's a shame because it was largely his place in the original tracklist.

Another good batch provided by the duo from Boston, as eclectic as the two protagonists are barred 1212 pays tribute more pleasing to the art of Boom Bap using more guests that consistent, an album that runs well and pleasantly not end in a common grave albums unnecessary and tasteless already busy in the year 2010.
